Screen Acting Workshops
Vicky offers Screen Acting Workshops throughout the year, typically spanning two days over weekends. For those seeking a deeper dive, she also conducts an extensive Masterclass with evening sessions over several weeks. These workshops are invaluable for actors, writers, and directors eager to develop character, acquire authentic screen acting skills, and maintain their craft between projects.

Information
This program is designed for actors to master the art of creating believable characters and emotionally connected relationships on screen. Through paired script work, participants explore the Art of Relating, which enhances creative choices and trains actors to bring their instincts to life on screen.
Participants benefit from strengthening and recharging their acting skills, removing blocks, deepening emotional connections, and improving sight-reading abilities.
Ideal for actors preparing for auditions or roles, the program also suits writers and directors interested in exploring acting techniques to develop character and enrich storytelling, while gaining tools to better communicate with actors. All participants engage in acting exercises.
A typical schedule is as follows.

*Chair work is an actor’s gym technique, which uses the script to explore connectivity between actors and develop emotional muscle

This second cycle is designed as a deepening spiral for returning actors—building on relational, emotional, and technical foundations laid earlier in the year.
Chair Work: instinctive, text-in-hand, relational listening
Couch Work: memorised, relationally embodied, emotionally cumulative
“Acting is surrender—reading the emotional pulse of the other actor and
responding without artifice, to reveal something you didn’t know you were holding.”
Places are limited. Returning actors receive priority.

Masterclass Intensive
This twice weekly, four-week masterclass trains actors to create believable characters and emotionally connected relationships on screen.
Working in pairs with scripts, actors learn the Art of Relating, which maximises creative choices and trains actor to bring their emotional instincts to the screen.

All participants work as actors. All work is filmed and reviewed.
**Actors must attend both classes per week.

About
Vicky Yiannoutsos has worked for over 40 years in the film industry as an acting coach, editor, director and producer. She trained at the Jeremiah Comey Acting Studios in Los Angeles and has run two Auckland studios. She has taught at Toi Whakaari in Wellington, Auckland University, UCOL, TAPAC, The Actors Programme in Auckland and Relativity Film School in Los Angeles. Vicky led the screen acting program at Unitec for eight years and worked extensively with actor, writer and director teams, developing collaborative actor-driven working models to create films. She has co-taught industry workshops in Aotearoa/ New Zealand with LA-based acting coach Jeremiah Comey. Vicky splits her year between New Zealand and Greece and is currently teaching and developing projects out of Manchester Tce Studios, home to Vix Pix Productions Ltd, in Melrose, Wellington.
